|
|
Hey all,
I am currently studying full time for my masters. I have a years experience working in KSA (ESL) and need to find some work over the summer (|May - September). I know this is unlikely due to Iqama issues but does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I would say this is nigh on impossible. Apart from visa requirements, Saudis generally escape the summer heat, and do not stay doing any kind of summer course (ie. work or study).
Ramadan will take place from (approx) 9th July to 7th August, followed by about 7-10 days of official holiday. Virtually nothing gets done then in officialdom. |

Yea I thought so, I hated working in Ramadan too. I guess I was thinking of some sort of summer school or something but then again most people travel for that sort of thing eh! Thanks anyway! |

Universities run classes over the summer - but they are taught by contract employees. |

The British Council often do summer schools in the Gulf Region and need extra staff at that time. I'm not sure if they're recruiting for Saudi this year but they are advertising vacancies in Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon at the moment. Keep an eye on their website. |

BC have had troubles in gettting visas for KSA. In general; it is easier for summer school administrators to look to the local market (ie teachers already here) rather than bring people in for short periods. |
