Don't worry Aug, it just sounds like you went with the good ol' "Please think of and do stuff that makes me your teacher look good" but the stupid students failed to deliver. Shame it didn't quite pan out in your TP, but it usually suffices in the real world workplace for, oh, years and years.
By the way, I didn't quite get the student's objection to writing a guide book for a place she knows - one can't after all write guide books for places one doesn't know! Maybe politely tell her exactly what time it is next time. A bit of subtle sassback and firmness isn't so bad with uppity students.
Oh, and classes with too-wide ranges in ability are hardly your responsibility or fault, but many schools will try to insist otherwise. View it as authentic prep "LOL". Chin up, old girl!
I guess the cons of doing the CELTA part-time (read: dragged-out) are now becoming apparent ROFL. |
