I was just told that the Chongqing local government will not issue invitation letters to a third country (Thailand) and I must go back to the US for my Z-visa.
I live in Thailand with a NON-O visa
I wrote to the Embassy in Bangkok and they said I can get one if I had the proper documents.
This is really giving me a headache. |

Have heard similar things regarding other provinces. I think the oft-used visa run to Hong Kong is only possible in some provinces, as others wont issue visa invites stating HK as the address.
This certainly doesnt mean you cant get a visa when in Thailand, but it may mean you wont get one for the job you are currently seeking. Its possible you may have to accept this and seek a job in another place. |

Yes, I understand this now. It's to bad I really liked this school , so I had to accept a position in a different province that will send me a invitation letter directed to Thailand |
