I am a non-native speaker, will soon graduate from an MA in Teaching English to young learners from the University of York, and hope to get a CELTA this July. I have 6 months of teaching experience at a University level in Kazakhstan.
Do I have a chance of getting a job in a University prep. departments, or private schools (not language schools)? When is the best time to apply? After CELTA, or before? |

How's your accent? Also, where are you from? As long as you don't have an accent, there probably won't be much of a problem. It could be tough to get in for an interview since you're not a native speaker. There are plenty of qualified native speakers up for the same positions, so you'll really have to blow them away at the interview. |

I'm sure you will be able to teach in Turkey. There are so many non natives working here without proper qualifications. CELTA will open a lot of doors for you. Not sure about unis but you can probably find a job in private schools. |
