Hi all.

I just got an email about a job agented by M2R Global, for uni positions all over Saudi.

Doing a search on Dave's gave me nothing, but they do have a spiffy website, and say they've been around for 10 years.

So - anyone?????

Salary's pretty skimpy = - gotta love this part, though:

M2R seem to be based in the UK, as the reply email came from there.

But, they're recruiting for AETG... and yes, the pay does look like crap! Given my quals and exp, they'd better be offering the higher end of the pay scales (not the highest, naturally, but certainly not at the lowest either!)

We shall see!

At least I got a reply within a day or so, which is far better than many other places I've applied to.

Very oddly worded...almost Biblical at times. The pay does seem low. It looks like it is $30,000 at the bottom and $38,000 at the top? Am I reading this right? Someone with a Ph.D. and ten years of experience would top out at $38,000? As long as the Ph.D. is in the required field, of course....and about which they seem enormously concerned.

Even if they are efficient at getting back to you, I would take my time and look into it very carefully. Sounds like someone old going under a new name. Perhaps even a university that is turning over its HR hiring functions to a recruiter of some sort. Be sure you talk to someone who has genuinely worked with them before, and don't fall for some manager suddenly posing on the page as a former employee.

Get all the details before you even consider considering it. (Yes, I meant to use both forms of "consider" right next to each other, to indicate the intensity of the consideration I would give before applying to this job.)

Mia, no - PhD's start at $42K, and up to $55K with 5 years experience.

And yeah, I know I need to look further - there have been no details for where one works! Or any other job specific information!!!

Also, their remuneration package is contradicted... in one section, it even says that Master's degrees don't add to the pay, yet further down it does!

Do you have someone in mind you'd like to share???

Yeah, not yet considering considering for any considerable time... Smile Just going through the ropes and see what I get.

There have long been rumors that PMU was turning over its HR function to recruiters. The have had a very difficult time both hiring and maintaining qualified faculty due to horrendous HR inadequacies. They would be my first guess, especially since they have ads all over higher ed right now.

Last month I received an email from m2r global asking me about my interest in Saudi jobs. I replied and agreed to speak with Mr. M M over Skype. I couldn't keep the originally scheduled day due to illness, so I rescheduled for one week later. This was over three weeks ago and still no call (or email or any other communication). Wonder what I did wrong?

Probably nothing. The ESL world is cut-throat; they'll just move on to the next potential employee.

Did you not see my reply? I am more than happy to arrange a Skype call. Don't tarnish us with the same brush as other not so professional recruiters.

Do "professional" recruiters even find it necessary to post on Dave's??
It seems a bit defensive if you ask me.

Also noteworthy: A mere 24 hours ago you had multiple posts on this forum. A recent check of your profile shows that you have since deleted all but one of them. I don't see that helping your argument of "We're a transparent company, I swear!"

MOD EDIT: The posts were removed by the moderators
