This is a warning for all teachers thinking of teaching in Saint Petersburg: do not work at Educa. There is a different school with a similar name, Educacentre, at Komendantskiy, and I've heard they are honest about wages and visas - Educa and Educacentre used to be the same school, but there was a schism.

However, be warned, Educa is not honest at all. They pay very late, and often not at all. You will have to beg to be paid, even a portion of your salary, and once they owe you a lot of money, they will say you are a bad teacher and refuse to pay you at all. I know at least a dozen teachers or secretaries who lost their wages working for them, and that's only what I personally know about.

They may also give you visa trouble, for example claiming you will get a work visa, but giving you a different visa instead, which is only good for 3 months. 3 months is not very long in a town like Petersburg, where it's hard to find an apartment, rent is expensive, and it's not particularly cheap to travel to most places for visa renewal.

Educa is currently located on Kamennoostrovskij Prospect, in the old LenFilm building. The directors there are Dina Levina (owner) and Oksana Skovpen (DOS). These people are not honest, they are thieves and manipulators. If you see these names, or the name Educa, AVOID.
