I specifically told my family member in the states to send me a package via FEDEX, but due to the expenses they thought it would be better to send me a first class parcel. It was sent on February 7th and it hasn't arrived. I can't say I'm surprised it hasn't arrived but I sure would like to get it. Has anybody had this problem before and was there a way of receiving the package? Rolling Eyes

It likely won't arrive and there is little or nothing that you can do about it. Thus it has always been. Crying or Very sad

Next time they send you something, tell them to send it DHL... that is usually the best for overseas deliveries... and you'll reimburse them.

I've been sent stuff using regular old USPS and it took over a month to get it. I guess there is no package tracking for this stuff, but keep hope. Maybe it'll come. Maybe.

I've been frustrated about shipping as well. I want an option where it cheap to send a sizable box, at the acceptable downside of it taking like a month or two, with assurances (oh Saudi) that it'll arrive.

Everything I've seen says like 2 day or five day. Slow down, lower the price and whatever! Put it on a steamliner or something. Add it to the shipment of US blueberries you can buy at Tamami that cost way too much. Or the freaking cream cheese that costs like 40 riyals. Guy just wants a bagel with some back-home condiments and I need to spend enough to get me meal at Fridays...

Yes I agree!.....It has been more than a month for me now. I've also received a package from FedEx that arrived at my company, and then they called me. All in all it was very smooth, easy and EXPENSIVE. Do you happen to know the name of the Saudi company that brought you your package? Thanks....

I have an account with Aramex. I paid a fee of R300, and received an address with a personal ID code that is good for NY state, London and Shanghai. I use that address for important things I want or have to receive.

Basically, what happens is if something goes to my NY address, they email me to say they have it. It takes several days, then it arrives at the central Aramex center. They email me again that's it's arrived. I go, pay the shipping fee (not cheap at over $10/lb) and collect my package. For common things, not worth the cost. But for important things, it's worth it--to me anyway. Service is pretty quick, too. I don't think it ever took more than 10 minutes or so to get my packages.

The Aramex in question in Riyadh is off Exit 5 just 2-3 blocks past Kingdom School.

Can you have your family member flogged? I obviously would not depend on that person again if I were you. I wanted a document sent FEDEX to Thailand and it was sent First Class Mail instead by USPS. It arrived 3 months later, package slightly battered. At that point the package was useless.

Haha...my family member was doing me a favor, unfortunately what was sent seems like it's likely lost. Thanks for the ideas, I'll do what I can to find it or, at least figure out a better method for next time.
