I wonder if anyone here has done an online TEFL qualification offered by Serious Teachers? If so, have you found a decent job as a result? Serious Teachers has its own jobs board, but I'm not convinced that all of the employers on the list accept a qualification from Serious Teachers. |

You risk constantly being asked.......

Online certs still aren't considered to meet the standard in many parts of the world... |

That was funny!
And from what I hear, Spiral is absolutely correctomundo. I have also seen employers giving the thumbs down to online degree, such as Open Universities. |

OK, fair enough!
At the moment, I'm leaning towards other courses. |

I don't know if they still do this, but when SeriousTeacher's first started it's jobs board they would lift ads from other sites, have a click to apply here feature, not allowing you to directly contact the school. Then they would email the school and ask the school to pay to see the applicants they have lined up for them. I know at least one school that was like, "uh, no thanks." Then you'd see posts on Dave's from teachers complaining that they never got any response at all from the school's they'd applied to. |
