Is it a no no to shill for them? I don't want to post a link to the job as I am not sure if it's kosher. I will say that I can't recommend it enough. If someone could let me know if it's cool, I would be happy to post it and answer any questions prospective applicants.
Thanks!

Go for it. If you're just recommending a gig that is already paying advertising $ to Davey S I can't see how anyone is losing out. |

So here it is

Things I can tell you. The school is on the up and up. You wont be asked to pass a student unless they earn it. They have excellent support for us foreign teachers. They've gone to the bank, called in orders for various things and when I had to go to a hospital, they stood by my side. Pay and reimbursement are like clockwork, I've never had an issue. If anyone has questions about the school, town or anything else just PM me.
Cheers!

Wuuuuuuut free food at the cafeteria? .......first thing I notice is the use of "cafeteria" rather than "canteen"
Hows the food? When I taught high school/juniors the food was horrendous. |

The food is fair. We have a 10 acre farm so most of the veggies are grown right here (the FTs have free reign on picking what we want). Honestly I've only eaten there once since coming here in August. I love to cook and with a huge garden so close, I'm in heaven. I actually bring the students 5 at a time back to my apartment for Friday dinners. |

I've heard a number of pragmatic Canadians refer to it simply as a 'caff.' |

The word "canteen" sounds like some army reference |
Or a place at Camp Arrowhead... |

I teach GAC now. My school gives us 12 month contracts and pays us for the summer - in full. It's a solid gig (so far).
How many classes a week do you teach?

"Must have a valid teaching license." Are they hard and fast about that? |

The licensed teachers in my school make over 30k a month - but also work 8-5 PLUS extra hours 5 days a week. |

I think if the qualifications are there the license may be an after thought. Technically mine is expired in Arizona.
KungFuMan, I make 15k and teach 13 40 minutes classes weekly and 3 one hour tutorial. I have no office hours. Class times can be from 7:45 until 5:15p. Today I taught from 9:25 until 10:05 and 3:25 until 5:15p. I also coach softball and football for free as I love it, but that is on me. |
