I would hope that you wouldn't ever eat any mushrooms offered to you except for those that are purchased in the supermarket, the same with anything else. |

I avoid mushrooms and toadstools but will devour nuts at every opportunity. Not sure about the plumpy ones throiugh.
I also avoid toadlicking. Does bad things to the brain cells. I know because Kilgore TRouit toild me. |

Oh, bah, humbug. I come from and live in regions where forest mushroom hunts (for edible, and non-psychedelic - sorry, johnslat; perhaps too dull for you!) tidbits are a time-honoured tradition. We later clean, and then boil, fry, or bake our 'catch' and feast friends.
Yes, all our friends have always survived.
Learned at our grannie's knees which ones are tasty and safe. We are a whole race of live, healthy Central European shroom hunters:-) Come visit in September-ish, when all the ladies on the domestic trains have huge baskets full of forest treats....the thrill of the hunt, the thread of cold wind in the air, the leaves on the trees shivering in anticipation of autumn...
Never caught a fresh fish and done the honours, plumpy nut? That supermarket fare is extremely dull, when you've had the real thing! |
