Dear plumpy nut.
I guess there may be exceptions to your general claim. I speak very little Arabic, and yet I never had any problem earning respect from or controlling any of my literally thousands of students over the years. Those students ranged from being illiterate even in Arabic to university graduates.

Your life may be easier if you speak some Arabic, but I do not think there is any correlation between ability to speak Arabic and competence as a classroom teacher.
I detect a certain "malaise" coming from the poster known as Pluimpnut. Does thos presage final departure in the summer ? |
