Is anyone else a tad dubious about the stories of chemical weapons being used. ? Remember WMD and Saddam ? |

Yes, certainly. Anything from the Piggie press which reports on this, in between such important articles on Western decadent movies and pop stars, has to be automatically doubted by rational minds. But these fabrications won't be dismissed as the opportunistic cynical tools that they are by the downtrodden masses in Piggie lands. They will be willingly consumed, despite the obvious crudeness of their manufacture. Indeed many in the world still believe that Saddam Hussein was planning to launch missiles at London, even now when these lies have been, erm, exploded.
Even if chemical weapons have been used, that will not be the real reason for intervention in Syria. These weapons have been used elsewhere before and drew no response from the West. That is until it suited the Piggies to resurrect such atrocities to justify their current war aims, such as the Iraqi use of said weapons - in the 1980s. Provided an entirely convincing pretext for aggression in the 2000s! |

I think it's highly likely, and not all that unusual in the region, that the Syrian loyalists/govt forces are indeed using wmd. This isn't a war we (USA) really want to enter though given the stakes: varying degrees of negative effects in regards to our relationships with Syrian allies Iran, China, and Russia. The Israelis, and many other neighbors would love to see us step in and depose Bashar al-Assad, but whether we will obviously remains to be seen. Is it conceivable that the Israeli govt. sources may mislead Israeli media and Western media as to the presence/use of wmd? Yes. Should innocents be allowed to be gassed, maimed, disfigured, and killed bc of previous lies/errors (Iraq), and fears of repercussions w/ enemies and trade partners alike. I don't believe so. I also don't wish to see the US spearhead attempts to thwart this however, where a concerted multilateral approach would be far preferred. The situation there is bad and the ripple effects and destabilization of the country/region are alarming and need a collective international response.. or, we need to turn our backs on civilian casualties in the Middle East as we almost always do in African/S. or C. American/ Asian conflicts of similar natures |

Sashadroogie,
I've had CNN International on all morning and have been listening to the reports. Hasn't Isreal used chemical weapons on Libiya in the past?
Also, why the U.S. moral outrage? What's the difference between dropping napalm on villagers in South Vietnam and gassing people? Why are tehy so selective?
What about when Russian forces slaughter Chechens? Did the U.S. intervene? Or when a million tutsis / hutus were slaughtered?
Where was the U.S. then?
So I wonder what the real motive is then for the U.S. to attack Syria. |
