And now life expectancy for Russian males is similar to that in more impoverished parts of the Third World ! |

Congratulations!
If its 68 years since the glosrious victoty over the Nazis, then I make it 73 years since Hitler-Stalin love affair with a honeymoon in Poland and where the Soviets got a bit drunk and killed tens of thousands of Poles in the Katyn forest.

Yes, like all great powers, there are terrible blots on the record there. Most likely this particular one was motivated by remembrances of the activities of the Czech Legion, which had caused such mischief on behalf of the Whites during the Civil War. However, to adapt a well-known proverb, tout comprendre ce n'est pas tout pardonner.
Still, it is heartening to see that those tragic events have become a catalyst for Polish-Russian reconciliation.
But as it was brought up, the Non-Aggression Pact was no more or less cynical than Western economic agreements with the Fascists, or policies of appeasement or isolationism, don't you think?
In any case thank you for your congrats! I hope you celebrated Victory Day in grand style |

When I saw "68 years of victory", I thought you were talking about Sir Alex Ferguson! |

Couldn't agree more partner, football is the game of the gods, so Sasha, how do you feel about the great Dallas Cowboy's prospects after the draft? NFL gotta love it!
About 68 years, instead of harassing and planting ridiculous phony spy kits on American diplomats...only thing the fsb forgot to add was the fake goucho plastic glasses with the big nose and bushy eyebrows...they should be gracefully thanking the stars and bars for the lend-lease and holding of the Rising Sun Menace in the Far East.
Can say I did enjoy the 65th anniversary when allied member countries were allowed to send troops to march in the parade.... |

To Comrade Stalin:
Why did you evict 650,000 Chechens, Ingushs, Kalmyks and Karachaivans to the eastern part of the USSR in 1944?
Why did you demolish and erase from the map a Chechen mountainous village called Khaibakh-Aul during the deportation of 1944?
Why did you burn alive hundred of civilians in the village of Chechen-Ingushetia?
Why the Kremlin regime is still silent about the genocide in Khaibakh, which was started by the Tsarist Russia.
Comrade Stalin, I ask you and your comrades in the East and West, therefore, to apologise to the people of Chechen-Ingushetia, and go to the War Crimes Tribunal in Hague for a trial for your genocide in Chechen-Ingushetia.
Comrade WWW. |

Ah, no. Here we go again. What the Dallas Cowboys play is hardly football. More time is spent throwing the ball than kicking the damned thing. Even rugby players kick it every now and again.
As for Lend-Lease. Deary me, you have been reading far, far too many Piggie history books: the ones that make spurious claims that the Red Army owed its victory to the generosity of the Western Allies. (All material help was PAID for, by the way...) How many T-34 tanks were leased, eh? How many Red Army officers' lives? How many shipments of courage, heroism and patriotic ardour? The spam was helpful, true, but it took more than that to win the war.
As far the Japanese, there was never much to fear from them. They had been dealt with long before Pearl Harbor.
