|
|
Hello, I have a question that I need clearing up and my research has shown some contradictions.
I am thinking about going to KSA to teach and I will bring my wife along with me. Does she have any right to work on the family visa that she should receive? I hope so because she would never go to a place and not get a job.
Thanks in advance |

No right to work. For that she needs her own Iqama. Some wives teacxh without having the proper documentation. Not recommended.

Definitely not recommended. The govt are currently cracking down hard on this very 'offence'. Imagine a teaher with a wife who is working for an international school. If the school is raided (as others have been recently) they face either deportation or heavy fines or imprisonment.
the problem stems from the fact that you are only allowed to be employed and earn money from your residence permit (iqama) sponsor. But wives' iqamas state their husband as their sponsor. If she therefore earns money from anyone but her own husband, she is breaking the terms of her iqama. The only way to rectify this would be for her to get employed by the school separately and for her to leave the country and begin the recruitment process and iqama application in her own right.
Simples... |

Thanks for your information. Looks like Saudi is unlikely then. My wife is not a native speaker of English. Her only bet is to find a Saudi University with a Japanese department and see if they need any native Japanese speakers. |

I doubt such university departments even exist. |
