Hey there !
My objective is to become a college professor here in the USA after I teach abroad for about 3-5 years. My question is ... what countries do you consider to have the best job market for teaching University level? I know some counties have more opportunities then others for this. I would like to teach at a university and have my summers off.
Also, I am contemplating a M.Ed in TESOL from Regent University in Virgina Beach, VA beginning this fall. Will this be a big advantage in finding work at the university level or should I just go for the TEFL certificate?
Thank you thank you!!! |

In most countries you need a minimum of a Masters degree to teach (even part time) at a university, and in Japan you need publications and experience to get full time work. A degree in English TESOL or Linguistics is preferred.
A lot depends on what you are looking for- income or lifestyle: Japan and Saudi Arabia probably pay the best salaries and are the most competitive for jobs. |

that being said, as long as you have a pulse you can get a job at a uni in china...and you don't need much more to get a job at a uni in korea...a pulse and a degree.
i'd say you'd be very qualified and shouldn't have much trouble finding a position in either or those countries...can't speak for japan, though |
