Any update on the conditions with them? I found a thread from 2008 and that cannot possibly still be valid.

That probably partly depends on which branch you are asking about and whether you are interested in primary or high school.

I can tell you about my one year experience at the high school in Acarkent 3-4 years ago. It was the most difficult place I've ever taught at. When I had only 8 weeks to go, I almost resigned and that was a first for me. One Turkish teacher did quit and two others wanted to. When I started, I found out that all of the high school teachers were new, except for 2. We had three vice principals. There was a camera in every room, including the bathrooms by the sinks. Two of the foreign teachers at the primary school lasted less than 4 weeks, but one lasted the whole year. I was the only foreign teacher at the high school. At the end of the year, my voice was trashed from raising it so much. Discipline was a big problem there.

Organisation and and saftey do not exist in their vocabulary. the work load is terrilble and they just keep piling it on the,y think they own you and you private time and have no respect for the teachers. this is what i was told quote "dont worry about the children keep the parents happy do and say what ever to keep the parents happy"

Had a friend send her daughter there once who moved here from the UK, and had no Turkish. They promised they would have her helped all the way. They took the money and never provided any support..
All Lies and all money I've heard...
