I've been offered a position and am happy with the school. However, I want to make sure the salary is OK. It is 2800 TL + 500 accommodation allowance. I realise I will probably have to share a flat as Istanbul is expensive, but that is OK with me. However is this salary enough to survive on, have a little bit of fun or travel and possibly save a little? |

I'd rule out saving, should be enough to live on though and you can always get extra work. |

I would say 3300 lira per month in Istanbul should be plenty to save and travel if you live with a roommate. I recently lived in Istanbul for four years (always with a roommate) and often made less than that per month and was able to save and travel. Of course, a lot depends on if you have any debt and how much you spend on food, clothing, and entertainment. |
