If you are caught up in the amnesty, you are probably on

So I'm unclear, does this affect teachers who were trying to complete a year-long contract on a series of 90-day 'business' visas?

That is unclear to all of us... and we likely won't know for sure until July 3 comes and goes and some teachers post here to tell us how it affected them.

My research is indicating that along with this amnesty deadline, there was a prohibition on extensions of must visas--and that this has affected teachers on 'business' visas too.

However, this seems to be a one-time deal, and I haven't seen evidence of anything that would necessary derail the entire get a 90-day VISA and extend it 3 times = a single year in Saudi approach for the coming year. But the signs are a bit ominous.

Article in "Saudi Gazette" 11 June says "informed" opinion is that the 3 month visa amnesty is likely to be extended a further 3 months: http://www.saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?method=home.regcon&contentid=20130611169435
