Can anyone tell me about Bilkent? I have looked at the website, but I was hoping for a more personal perspective. Cheers. |

For which school are you applying? What do you want to know about it? I haven't taught there, but I've had friends who have taught both at the university and at the primary/high school and then the more international primary/high school. |

Scroll down a bit and check out the comments under Bilkent. Much has been said. My personal advice would be to avoid at all costs. A position in 'BUSEL' is absolutely soul destroying, but I don't know about the other Bilkent departments |

Yes, I also suggest turning the other 'Bilkent' thread started by Scot47. I have contacts in Bilkent and according to their frequent complaints the place is getting worse. Apparently, the vicious descriptions of the prep school posted on this forum are very accurate. Boring, dead end, low morale, overwork, difficult students are all words that frequently occur in conversation. Unfortunate, because otherwise I hear that Turkey is a great country to be in.
Good luck were ever you end up! |
