Has anyone here had an Iqama and resigned?

I'm really tired of the problems at my company and the attitude of the management and I'm considering quitting.

I'm on the third month of my contract so would I be safe under the 90 day probation period?

In the couple of years that I've worked in KSA, I've heard some stories about people who resign being asked for ticket money, Iqama money etc.

How do I go about doing this? Also, chances are "Doctor Thrill" isn't going allow me to obtain a letter of no objection.

I know this because there was a teacher who finished his contract and returned home and was offered a position with another company. He contacted "Thrilliam" and was told that he will not be given any letter of no objection but would be allowed to work for the company again.

So how important is the letter of no objection?

If anyone has any info for me I'd appreciate it.

Difficult to gbet another job in KSA if you have no LONO/NOC.

You resign by writing a letter.

When you resign go by the rules stipulated in your contract. You probably will have to anyway to get an exit visa. Try to negotiate with the company if necessary. Their is no longer an official "Letter of No Objection" although whether or not there is an unofficial blacklist, I don't know. If there is any kind of blacklist you might not get another job in KSA for another year or two, but I doubt forever. But if you negotiate with the company you might not need to worry about being blacklisted.

Depends on the employer. With one company I was in the iqama process when I decided not to stay. I simply gave them the requisite month notice, worked with them on the necessary paperwork to stop the process and moved on. They gave me the proper exit visa, which you should keep, even after exiting. I haven't been asked for a No Objection Letter or anything else like that by prospective employers in KSA. Seems that I could get a job back in KSA without much trouble if I want, but it's going on two years anyway.

On the other hand, my name tells it all with the obvious company. In their case, you probably aren't on an iqama within 3 months anyway. But if you are with them or a similar company, my suggestion is to just pack and leave silently one day or night; or if you have an iqama, just don't return after a vacation, hopefully at their expense if they think you are coming back. This could have consequences if you want to return to Saudi for work. My guess is that some other flea bag company would bring you in without an iqama, though. And they wouldn't be any worse than the one your with.

Just depends on the employer.

In a related topic, if one is still in the Iqama process, is it possible to leave the country or must wait for Iqama? and normally how long does the multi- exit visa takes after obtaining Iqama or does it come with it?

You cannot leave until your iqama has been processed. To leave you need an exit visa. That means permsision from your Master !
