Hi all
Was hoping to hear from anyone currently working for this recruiter. Have a contract signed and waiting on visa's for a supposed mid-August start, but I can find nothing about the company on these forums. Have been posted to Ras Tanura so anyone who has any experience of working there as an ITC advanced Instructor their thoughts would also be very welcome. I've posted else where about the accommodation situation in RT so hopefully I'll get some replies on that, but any 2-cents would be appreciated.
Thanks |

"Advanced ITC Instructor" is an Aramco title that is applied even to people who can't use apostrophes correctly. You say in another thread that you are with Al Hoty. No one works for a recruiter. Recruiters get you to interview and, once you are on the plane, will never talk to you again... even if other people earlier on in the process ask to contact a teacher out in the desert
There are a billion recruiters so it's no wonder you've not heard anything on these forums. |

Well sickly, I'll ignore what aint relevant, forget the apostrophe assassination, and see if anybody else might join in.
I never said anywhere that I was with Al Hoty.
Yes, I may have made a mistake in using the word 'recruiter' because as far as I am aware I am employed through JAL, and that's what my employment offer states. So, I take it they are a contractor, though I could still be very wrong on this.. Anyone??
I'm really not sure what u meant by the whole 'contacting a teacher out in the desert' thing, so i'm not sure if it's relevant or not. |

yeah... got you mixed with another new poster here. Sorry about that.
not sure if this is relevant to your post or not but I guess you can ignore it if not.
Never heard of JAL and I have heard of quite a few contractors.
Re the desert, my point was that once a recruiter is finished with you, they act like they never met you. I tried in vain to get my recruiter to put me in touch with teachers already out here. She said she had no contact details. It wasn't the only time Global Recruitment Solutions lied to me during the recruitment process either. There are reasons why they don't tell you the whole truth.

No worries, mix up's happen
Was actually in contact with that recruiter before JAl and had spoken to Ms M by phone.. funny..
I also asked my representatives if it would be possible to get in touch with any teachers, and got no answer... not exactly comforting either.
I'll keep trying to get something from them if possible
Thanks

I saw a car with JAL written on it just this evening actually so they are at least a company and have at least one vehicle.
Taxis are usually the way people get to work initially. You pick up a taxi on the street and on the way try to get him to agree to pick you up after work. Don't pay him until he comes back and he always will. If he's reliable, you offer him a regular run and maybe a cheaper weekly rate that benefits you both.
Or...
Once you get your license you rent a car. You can a get a basic runaround (Hyundai Accent/Toyota Yaris) for between R1-2000 a month. Fuel costs almost nothing here.

Could someone give a bit of feedback working as a contractor for JAL International. I am soon to be hired and was wondering how are they as an employee?
Thanks |

I agree. I have seen JAL cars, I always assumed they were Japan Airlines. Shows you what I know.
In any case, it is easy to worry about this contractor or that one. We in the Kingdom debate such issues when we are bored. In truth, the differences are trivial.
Your pay, your raises, your vacations and your work assignments are handled by Aramco. Maybe your contractor takes longer to get visas than mine does. Maybe your contractor's office is better-located than mine.
It is no big deal. |
