				| Okay, so I'm leaving Japan in about a week and still haven't filled out my pension withdrawal forms due to some lingering concerns.
Namely, if I withdraw the ~$3000, cancel my visa and all that jazz, do I forfeit my chance at any future career/life in Japan? I'm moving to Vietnam now for a year or two but I don't want to eliminate any potential future here as Japan is what I consider to be my home base.

I understand that living in VN WILL effectively cancel the time put in towards a Permanent Resident visa and I'm okay with that but what's the smart thing to do? I would certainly like to take the money but I don't want to forfeit everything in Japan with it.

Any advice would be most helpful.

Are you planning on retiring in Japan, and drawing from the Japanese pension system? If so, you'll obviously be taking a step backwards in that regard, as you'll lose that 3 years of contribution to the pension system.
