Anyone know this guy? Michael Boatwright. He taught ESL in China (at the TPR kindergarten in Zhu Hai), but told people there he'd previously taught in Japan for 9 years. Supposedly has a Japanese wife and child (may be divorced). In China, he was passing himself off as being from Sweden, but he's actually American (although he spent about 13 years in Sweden, and speaks the language well).
He turned up in California in February - left China on the day his visa expired, and then was found unconscious in a hotel room. When he woke up in the hospital, he only spoke Swedish, and doesn't remember anything from his life.
Would like to hear from someone who may have known him in Japan.

He said he taught in a Waldorf school in Japan. He'd have probably arrived in Japan around 2003 or so, and would have left about 4 or 5 years ago -- around 2008 or 2009. |
