You might want to bring a mask if returning or going to the M.E.
"All of the European cases have had a direct or indirect connection to the Middle East," the WHO said in the May 17 statement."
"Early fall when students and travelers return from vacations it is possible we will see the spread of MERS-CoV emitting from the Middle Eastern countries." Dr William S.
There is no cure at this time, nor do we know where and how this coronavirus began except it has been narrowed down to the middle eastern countries. |

you're far more likely to die from a car accident in the ME than MERS/SARS/mad chicken disease or whatever the latest media frenzy is fostering these days. Don't see many people worrying too much about that around here though
and don't get me started about malaria which although not a major ME problem is endemic worldwide and is both preventable and, in the vast majority of cases, curable. Don't see much media about that though... |

I'd say that the major spread of the virus would be in the spring (ie... already) when the Gulf locals... and teaching expats decamp from the Gulf over the heat of the summer and spread around the world... mostly Europe and North America. Then the Haj will be able to spread it more widely.
Not that I spend any time worrying about it.
