Certified teacher? UK or US? IB qualified?
If not a currently certified teacher you can pretty much cross those off of your list.
They usually recruit from abroad. Due to their accreditation you will need to be a currently certified teacher with several years of mainstream school experience. Graduate (MA/M.Ed) and post graduate credentials are common.
They typically hire through employment / job fairs (the big one for SE Asia being in early Jan in BKK). They usually don't hire on-line or advertise. Look at places like search associates or tieonline.com .
Salaries in the 75-130k/month (THB) range (plus full benefits (housing allowance, airfare, full medical, extensive holidays, etc)) are common.
Recruiting takes place in Dec-Feb with jobs commencing in Sept.
Lower tier "international schools" (international in name only) recruit in Feb-May and school started last week. Salaries in the 50-75k range are common and they will hire "in country". They usually seek certified teachers but will take teachers with experience, a degree and TEFL cert if they are desperate to fill a slot at the start of term. These jobs usually have few/no benefits.
A few of them are "less than desirable" workplaces for any number of reasons not the least of which are poor management policies and terrible HRM practices (much like your average chain hagwon in Korea).
Private schools (k-12) abound and range the full gamut from great to crap.
40 hour work week (8-4:30 with lunch off) and 18-22 classes being common.
Salaries in the 35k range are common for newbies who are "fresh-off-the-plane". If you are good at what you do and are well received then there are ample opportunities to increase that income that will seek you out).
If by private schools you mean language academies then they too abound. Salaries in the 40k range (30 classes) are pretty common as is piece work (hourly work with no visa, work permit or benefits).
Google " ajarn ".

Based on youre education and experience I would say between Baht 60,000 and Baht 80,000 per month. Of course if you work overtime you will increase your full time earnings. Good luck! |

You have to somehow make your way into those schools. Everybody who is qualified like you wants to come and get that kind of a position in Bangkok |
