Generally speaking does Thailand conduct criminal background checks. I have a DUI and was wondering if that would affect my chances of getting a job in Thailand. Thank you and feel free to PM. (I deleted an unnecessary sentence from my original post as I was altering my question to fit other countries' threads. Sorry for the confusion.

Should not be a problem when applying for teaching jobs in the LOS.However, I would not let others know of your DUI conviction. You will be required to get a Police Clearance in Thailand when applying for your work permit. |

Just to clarify...
Is this a new requirement?
Also, when you say "a Police Clearance in Thailand", do you mean one issued locally by the Royal Thai Police?
Thanks for any details you can provide. |
