I plan to move to Taiwan in early August, and I am agonizing over the fact that it may be in Yoshi's best interest to leave her in the United States. Yoshi is a Japanese Chin, so she only weighs about 8 pounds. I understand she would be quarantined for 3 weeks upon arrival, and I also understand that the Taiwanese may not be as fond of Yoshi as I am. I am wondering if anyone knows the conditions in the holding facility. I am also wondering if Yoshi would still be in danger if I only have her outside when I'm with her and she's leashed. Have any of you brought an animal into Taiwan? Do you have any advice or suggestions? |

I never brought an animal to Taiwan but from my own observations, I don't think Yoshi would be terribly out of place here. I've seen many people toting around little dogs in their purses, on leashes, in baskets, on their scooters. Tiny cute dogs seem popular. I don't see many big ones around in the city. I live in Taipei. |
