For the billionth time and more.....PLEASE can we have an updated feedback on ICEAT. Have they changed for the better or are they the same?
There has been a new management and apparently everything has been streamlined and made 'professional'. Is that true?
September is drawing close so need to know whether to go to PNU or KSU
through SBC or ICEAT respectively. javascript:emoticon(' ') or stick with Oman.
Edex wouldn't touch with a barge pole!
Thank you, thank you...... |

Stick with Oman, why risk them. Especially how everything always seems to change when things begin to go good. Omanis are great people and the environment much better. |

ICEAT are far worse than EdEx, even with the 'professional' upgrade - why not just stay in Oman? |

I was offered a teaching role by ICEAT through another recruiter (UK based). I was initially told I'd be starting in September with a visa leading to an Iqama. My recruiter contacted me recently and asked if I could commence in mid-August. I was informed I'd be going on a business visa, returning to my home country in October during Hajj then returning to KSA for my Iqama. It all seems a bit rushed and disorganised. I haven't signed a final contract yet. Most of the posts on this forum regarding ICEAT have been positive. Can anyone shed some light on this or give any advice on whether I should give them a wide berth. |

That is an extreme case of selective reading if I have ever heard one, where are these positive reviews? I would love to see them?
If you have missed the negative reviews - here is one now you can't deny seeing - do not work for them, awful company, make EdEx look brilliant in comparison. |

I see a few problems with this situation. First, it's Hajj, so what makes them think the Saudi Consulate is going to be open and operating during that time to issue you an Employment visa? Secondly, even if they could get you a visa during that time, would it only take ten days? If you're American or Canadian, definitely not. So you may not be returning to work "right away" like they may say you are. Be prepared - you will only get salary for Hajj holiday and no days beyond that.
Regarding ICEAT, they are a decent company as far as administrative stuff goes (pay is on time, they answer emails, etc.), but their housing for single women sucks (and they have been "promising" new housing for almost a year now, so be wary when they say it'll be changed), and the Indian lady in recruitment is a bit dodgy and I wouldn't believe anything she says if it's not in writing. |

Sure, if you don't mind living in a dark, windowless hotel that's 50 minutes away from the university, with NO outdoor space and very little security... sure, I guess you could say it's really good. As for the transport, let's just say that if your work shift begins at 7:30 you leave your accommodation at 6:00 just so you can wade through all the traffice to get to the uni on time. Gets REALLY old after awhile. |

Dear TEFL teacher,
You should know that they will not pay you once you are off Saudi soil. Therefore, the time you spend in England waiting for your work visa will be out of pocket expenses. Save your money while you are one the business visa so you can offset your expenditures while waiting for work visa.

Dear Teacher 11,
Have you or are you working for them at present and living at the hotel?
I know KSU has 2 sites: 1 near the Grenada Mall and the other one way out in the wilderness. I worked at the one which was 10 minutes away from Grenada Mall. PNU was close by. Unfortunately it was through EDEX!
I don't really want a disgruntled employee's answer, but a fact based one, Please! A lot of us have been recruited through ICEAT!

You sound a bit stressed out - chill! Your future in Saudi doesn't look too promising if no-one answering you on an internet forum is getting you all in a tizzy! |
