Hi, is 2700ytl a good salary without accommodation? The school I am in talks with has free shared accommodation but at my age, I don't want to share. So, I will prob (if I accept the job will find my own), so is 2700 enough? I am based in Bursa |

I have a similar question. I am sure that 200 in Istanbul would not be enough. What about in a provincial city ?
This is not for me. My days as a Dragoman and Janissary are over. |

Er, think about sharing before you jump into the deep end, at your age you should have enough savvy to lay down a few rules for mutal benefit, if not learn how to be assertive! |

Rent in Istanbul can vary quite a lot, but I'd say 600 would be at the cheapest end, more like 1000 for something decent.
As far as whether it is a good package, what about your experience? Qualifications? How many days/ hours will you work? How many days paid holiday? Free flights each year? Food and transport included?
Although I haven't lived in Bursa, I know people can get by on 2700 in Istanbul, just not much chance to save anything. |

Dear Elliott, you remind me of someone I met who used to bang on how everyone was so negative while she was a ray of positive sunshine, she stayed in the country less than 5 years and went back home saying lots of negative things about thiscountry. I have been here more than 15 years, so forgive me but I know what I am talking about and I don't see the world through rose coloured glasses, but unlike many others I don't throw the towel in and quit.
Now also be aware than for some strange reason you are not the only person that has a fondness for felines, hate them myself thats probably why we don't click, so stay away from Izmir, lots of cat haters here. |

You'll find it fairly easy to live in Bursa on 2100, comfortably save half of that even. But, the whole;"Don't say anything if I don't like it attitude" that's gotta stop mate. |

I'm sorry, but there are no schools in Bursa that pay 2700 USD for a native English speaking teacher. |
