Seems like an interesting enough topic for VN: Where do you live? Do you rent, own or sleep at the school?

Got a place for a $150/mo thanks to some lucky breaks. Quite a bit far outside my workplaces though.

Started in a room in a shared house. After getting married I rented a the top two stories (with separate stairwell) of a house in Phu Nhuan for 8 million.

Recently moved to a spacious apartment (140-odd m2) in Phu My Hung, $550 per month on a two year lease.

Quite a few of my colleagues own their homes. Some in apartment blocks, some in houses. One fella I know bought a section in D2 long before it was "D2". Lucky guy.

I rent a house, but renting a house doesnt seem to be on that list. Maybe they think everyone lives in an apartment.

Similar to The Beautiful One directly above this post, I, too, rent a house. I'm in a second-tier large town/small city in The North. I drop 4 Million VND ($190USD) a month for a three-and-a-half floor, four bedroom house.

I rent a small but clean serviced apartment for 300 USD a month plus utilities. NO deposit required and nor do I trust any Hanoian's to ever give back one (deposit) without a fight.

I rent a house. Or rather my wife does for me.

Cheap, comfortable. Best place I've ever lived.Very little hassle from landlords here but I think it helps to be married.

I don't mind paying 3-4 months in advance. but wouldn't take a place that wasn't exactly how we wanted it to be already and ideally unfurnished - you don't want to store their cruddy furniture.

I rent a two-bedroom fully-furnished apartment from a friend who is abroad at the moment. It's $400 a month plus utilities and he has also lets me use his motorbike while he is away.
