As a non-EU passport holder, I've been advised by Sashadroogie to go to Russia.
Here are my credentials:
- US and Canadian citizen (dual passport holder)
- New York State Teaching Licence in TESOL (K-12 all subject areas)
- additional New York State Teaching License in Dance (K-12 - it's really only for creative dance)
- MS in TESOL
- MA in Diplomacy and International Relations (with a focus on European institutions and European educational law)
- BA in Anthropology
- BA in Dance
- 3 years as an English speaking and writing teacher at a private Junior and Senior high school in Japan
- 5 years as an ESL teacher in a New York City high school
- 10 years of additional (previous) teaching at private language schools in Montreal, Kyoto, Osaka, and New York City
- Language skills: English (Native), Japanese and French (Basic travel with ability to do exchange basic information / small talk)
Just in case you were going to suggest it, I could teach at an international grade school with a big but - many of these places don't need an ESL licensed teacher, and many require experience working in an international baccalaureate school (which I don't have)... (although never say never - I will look into this as 1 possibility)...
Given my experiences, credentials, what kinds of jobs are good for me to look for in Russia? (I'm looking for a city that has as direct as possible a flight back to New York City - so perhaps Moscow, no? - also teaching adults is more fun for me...)
Also, any good job websites?
Thanks! |

Don't listen to Sasha, he's a human trafficker. He also advised me to come here. The next thing I knew, he had taken my passport and I was forced into pole dancing for tourists in seedy bars. |

Teacher X, get back to work! And please stop biting the hands that feed you. It is not as though you were qualified for anything else to begin with now was it, eh? Besides, you are quite the hit on stage. Very fetching little outfit and routine.
Timothypfox, yes, Moscow sounds like the best place for you in terms of connections back home. Plenty of work going for adults only classes. Kiddies too if you can do that type of work.
Here are a couple of websites for you. There may be something helpful amongst the usual detritus. Best of luck!
