Even though the economic situation in Spain is dire, it seems that the ESL job market is alive and well in Madrid. Is this actually the case for those of you with boots on the ground in Madrid ?

What about the current cost of living there ?

Can U.S. citizens work there legally ? (Berlitz,Wall Street, etc...)

Gracias !

It'd be nice to see a sticky thread with that question as the title and then the OP is just "No." It'd probably cut down traffic in this forum by half.

It is a good idea. But it depends on people not thinking that they are special cases, just because. I'd predict you'd still see the same amount of postings.

Now I need to go to the America board and ask if anybody can tell me the situation regarding EU citizens coming over, maybe on a tourist visa, and scoring an nice little teaching job.

Ah, we make special exceptions for citizens of Malta. Doesn't matter if we have regs, if you've got a Maltese passport, it clears all hurdles automatically. Wink

Well, you know, Spiral, a Maltese accent and Maltese idioms are much more popular than British and American ones. So, it is correct that all the rules should be overturned. How else would learners be taught how to be better people and learn to think critically?

No, Sash. You've missed the main point. It's Maltese CULTURE that makes you guys so exceptional. Maltese music, film, literature....we all want to talk with Maltese people, 'cause they're SO cool Cool .

Well, as true as that is, I have been told that I might not get automatic entry. And that makes me... cross.
