Hello,
Does anyone know if I need one of these for each country that I have lived in? And if so, how do I go about getting them?
Thanks for your assistance. |

When I got the NET job, the EDB got what they needed direct from my home country and never asked about anywhere else I taught. |

From the EdB's website:
Quote: |
... new NETs who have not served under the NET Schemes before are required to produce documentary evidence that they have/ have not been found guilty of criminal offence (e.g. Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC)) from the countries/ cities where they have resided before they take up this new appointment in Hong Kong. Eligible candidates who are not able to obtain the above-mentioned CNCC since they have been residing and are recruited in Hong Kong are required to obtain a certificate of statutory declaration from one of the District Offices of the Home Affairs Department certifying that they have not been found guilty of criminal offence before they could be appointed as NETs. Should the NET concerned be found wilfully providing any false information or withholding any information in this respect, this will render the NET disqualified for employment / liable for termination of employment even though the NET has already assumed duties in school. Schools recruiting NETs directly should ask the NET to complete and return the attached Form C as detailed in paragraph 16 together with the required documentary evidence to EDB. |

I'm bumping this up as I'm thinking of applying for an SNET position for the 2014-2015 school year.
I sent [email protected] this question: "Regarding the 'Certificate of No Criminal Conviction,' does it need to be obtained from each and every city I have lived in throughout the course of my life, or will an F.B.I. criminal records check suffice as I am a U.S. citizen."
They replied with: "Blah, blah, blah, ...please try your best to obtain and submit the related CNCC."
Please try your best?
For those who've been through the process, I'm wondering if you've "tried your best" but not provided info related to "each and every city" you've lived in and been hired? |

You just need it from your home country and Hong Kong.
I didn't have to get one from every country that I've lived it (it would be impossible for some). Don't worry, everyone I know in the NET scheme just has their home country and HK.
Don't remind them about it, though. The EDB NET scheme is extremely competitive, so don't give them any second thoughts! |
