Scot47 had a heart attack on 30 August, Scottish Ambulance Service helicoptered him off to a mainland hospital where he was treated for the heart attack and pneumonia.
He is resting and refraining from polemics on this and other boards, until a later date, when he hopes to recover his abilities to spit venom at the foolish. |

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery, Scot. Hope you are soon back at Dave's with a full measure of cantankerousness and energy. Heartfelt thanks to the Scottish Ambulance Service!

Dear scot47,
I'd been wondering about your unaccustomed absence. I hope you make a full and speedy recovery, though I must admit I'm surprised that a young whippersnapper such as you are would suffer such an attack.
You MUST mend quickly as these forums have no curmudgeon-in-training capable of performing the invaluable functions that only you have mastered.
Be well, amigo,
John |

scot, how come you had a heart attack in Scotland and not in the Magic Kingdom?
The environment in the Magic Kingdom is more suitable for a heart attack than Scottish' one!
I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope you will donate 10% of your salary to the Scottish Ambulance Service and British Heart Foundation for their work to help people like you. |

Too much pork ??? Here's joke to lighten your mood Scott...
A woman finds a genie's lamp. The Genie comes out and says, "You may have three wishes, but your husband will get ten times more than what you wished for."
The woman agrees. Her first wish was that she would be the most beautiful woman in the world. "You realize," the Genie said, "that your husband will be ten times more beautiful than you, and more women will gawk at him?"
"That's okay," says the woman, "He'll only look at me because I will be the most beautiful women." So the wish is granted.
Her second wish was that she would be the richest woman in the world. "You know your husband will be ten times richer, right?" the Genie asks.
"That's okay. What's mine is his and what's his is mine," replied the woman. So the wish was granted.
The woman then thinks long and hard about her last wish. She finally wishes that she had a mild heart attack.

Add my wishes for a full recovery, Scot. Here's hoping you are back soon as good as new. Or even better!
All good wishes,

Oh, great! I've been feeling pretty curmudgeonly of late, so I think I'll qualify. Sign me up! |

Dear AGoodStory,
I'm afraid you'll have to change your user-name first. To a curmudgeon, NOTHING can be "Good."
Regards,

Sorry to hear that Scot, hope you have made a full recovery. Lay off the spirits and the bacon. Instead of spending time on this board, become a hunter gatherer like your ancestors... and ye shall not perish till ye reach the century mark! Having said that, we do need you to come and stir the hornet's nest a bit... been too calm lately and posters seem to be getting along, and we can't have that now, can we?
BTW, I thought of you in the summer (mid-August) when I was in Watchet and saw some handicrafts from your Isle in a shop window! That reminds me, can you leave me your piece of the Isle when do depart to the Great Kennel Above one day?! |
