I am planning to teach in Taiwan (starting Sept 2004) but would also like to briefly visit China, Nepal, Thailand, Bali to satisfy my desire to see some of Asia.
What would be the best ticket option if you plan to fit in some travel ie. round-trip ticket with several stopovers, or one-way ticket and make several short trips? Is it best to do all travelling in one timeframe AFTER finishing in Taiwan or is it possible to use semester breaks for travelling?
I need to purchase a ticket soon so would appreciate any advice you could share. |

When I returned to the US from Japan, I purchased a tour package that included stops in Thailand, Singapore and Bali. I wish I could remember the travel agency so this post was actually helpful, but I don't. A lot of people manage to take several small trips while living in Asia, but if you're planning on saving money as well and you need to fit in several countries, you might want to take advantage of the tourist packages. |

Dear Nabi,
I recall that Thailand only has three seasons: the "cool" season, the "hot" season, and the Monsoon season.
Better double check the weather patterns. I recall that January is considered by most to be the best time to visit Thailand, by the way.
I doubt there are any package tours that would go to the countries you mentioned (all together, I mean). It would take a LOT of time and a lot of money to actually visit the places you mentioned.
Looking forward to hearing the suggestions of others.

Personally depending where you are flying from, do over land, I came to Korea from Toronto, and stoped in London and Bangkok........and they still covered most of my flight........but if you land just say bangkok, you can over land it all over south east asia litterally over night, nepal, will be a further trek, but it will be fun, lots of hicking, as for china, do that when you do a visa run, or have a week off. thats a quick 1-2 hour flight from Taiwan depending on where you want to fly. But thats just my advice.
