Ronny and beaurcracy: Regan cut the total number of members of the beaucracy by 60,000. Clinton cut it by 370,000. Reagan champion of small government? Winner: Clinton

Ronny cut taxes once and rasied taxes 3 times. Ronny brings the deficit to an all time high by tripling it. Clinton budgets run a surplus actually lowering the deficit Winner: Clinton.

Reagan's pet project: Star Wars. Clinton's: Universal Health Care. Sadly neither became a reality.

Reagan's big lie: We don't trade guns for hostages and we don't fund facists all over the world, one which my VP's kid will be fixated on. Clinton's big lie: I didn't touch that hefty intern. Bigger lie, that is the one that resulted in the deaths and torture of hundreds of thousands of people: Ronny Ray-Gun!

But Ron "defeated Communism" as the Economist so eloquently wrote on its cover. Stalin and Krushev shot people Gorbi didn't. Gorbi introduced peristroika and glastnost-freedom of speech, press and politics. Not shooting people and giving people freedom is responsibe for bring down this totalitarian state not a mythical missile defense that cost the us billions. The economy of the USSR was in shambles since Breznev, any of the other leaders before Gorbi would never have let it happen without a bloody massacre. Gorbi could have stopped it, just like those before him, that but he didn't and Ron had nothing to do with that.

whispering ... the result of an human equation: President R. Regan represents e v e r y t h i n g that the "world" hates about Americans....

Nixon was a mess, Carter wasn't too bad actually, but R. Regan..... This President Bush dittoed R. Regan's Military program.
Today the country is facing what Russian had to face 20 years ago: "How to pay for military". The same pleonasm that brought down Russia which couldn't put up with USA' military power in the early 80's.
Now, we cannot put up with our own power madness

A fable: "The frog that wanted to turn bigger than the bull"
She tried indeed and exploded... The Bush are protecting their interests in "Oil For Car" program, when Europe in going clean energy...
This Iraq war prompts a bill of 15 Billions as per Jun 04.

Regards.
H.

Michael Moore's film 'F/911' is coming out on friday and has already caused a quite a stir here in the US. Bush supporters are in a tizzy and are launching a campaign to get theaters not to show it. in my little town there have been letters sent to the newspapers calling on people to boycott any theater that shows the film. fox news even likened moore to Goebbels, the Nazi propagandist.

i for one can't wait to see it.

From what I have heard Michael Moore might have to change the name because Ray Bradbury didn't give his consent. Remember this is what I have heard and remember my location and the availibility of English news.

I don't know why, but I have a strong feeling that it's going to be a letdown. And I'm very much in tune with his politics. Oh well, I'll certainly be first in line to buy my .. pirate copy Embarassed

Better get in line fast. The speed of pirating is amazing. I thought the movie already came out, I saw a review on the internet.

Yes, but don't forget that not everything is copied over here immediately. This is not exactly 'Lord of the Rings'. Maybe in Moscow, if you know where to look, you can find anything... but as for me I'll be lucky to get hold of it for several months, if then, I reckon.
Then again, this film is generating a lot of publicity, I hope to be proved wrong.

I wouldn't think permission would be needed for the title's reference to Bradbury's novel. Isnt' there a special rule for that? Or am I thinking about the satirization of public figures?

Dear zaneth,
Titles of books cannot be copyrighted:

"Does the copyright on a book in any way preclude the publication of another otherwise unrelated book **with the same title**?

"Book titles cannot be copyrighted. Under certain circumstances, a series
title might be subject to trademark. Read "The Protection of Book Titles"
on my site. Click on "Articles for Writers and Publishers."

However, a book title CAN be "trademarked" if it has acquired a "secondary meaning" - for an explanation of this (which, as is usually the case with the law, is quite complicated), please see:

http://www.publaw.com/titles.html

But it's apparently VERY difficult to "trademark" a "single title" as opposed to a "series title" (and even trademarking a "series title" seems to be quite difficult).

Therefore, if anyone is busily writing an opus called "War and Peace" or "Moby D i c k", it looks like you won't have to change the name.

Regards,
John
