I don't disagree that the police would not want to waste their time on this, but it has nothing to do with being a foreigner or not. It's simply a case of burden of proof. Is there any proof that there was any cash in the first place, let alone proof that the landlord actually stole it?
If the money in the draw was all you had left then why not keep it in the bank? Doesn't your school pay directly into your bank account? I guess that if you are working illegally and getting cash in the hand then I guess that you certainly couldn't expect the police to help you. Afterall if you are not paying taxes then I don't see why other taxpayers should be footing the bill for the police to be involved.
I would try to accept this as a lesson learned. You are obviously convinced in your own mind that is was the landlord, but you would look pretty stupid if you did any of the above and then found out the truth. |

Taiwanese males are pretty spineless mother's boys. If you bring the "boys" around and catch the landlord alone (i.e. without his mother) he'll probably pay you back - or you could take something of his if noone else sees or hears. Then you can have some fun ... Just make sure he doesn't know where you work, 'cos to get the F.A.P. to nab you they need a name and the exact name of the school. |
