This isn't Asia where looks are everything and you have to act like a monkey in class. The reputable ones here probably won't discriminate based on age. The ones that do probably aren't worth working at in the first place.

I've only come across one academy in Valencia that has specified age requirements for their position (25-40 years old only).

Not sure if I should consider working at a place that wants to interview me tomorrow and starts this coming Monday. A little weird to make a decision on an employee so quickly.

I'd say at 50+ you'll find it harder to find work than a 25-year-old. Just a sort of passive age discrimination, if you like, as that's not the average profile of a new English teacher your average DoS in Spain is expected, used to seeing, or wants.

On the other hand, any organization doing a lot of company work and or Business English might be more interested in you, especially if you have relevant experience.
