Hi Everyone:

Just checking up on the management situation in China. My poll is a bit more complicated than the simple poll format on this website. You can answer the poll just by the standard reply post.

Here it goes:

If you're employer is...(only choose one)

...foreign-owned and foreign managed, incl. your supervisor, enter FFF.
...joint venture, and your direct boss is a foreigner, enter JVF.
...joint venture, and your direct boss is Chinese, enter JVC.
...Chinese public school, enter CCP.
...Chinese private school, & direct boss is Chinese, enter CCC.
...Chinese private school, but direct supervisor is foreign, enter CCF.

If you feel your employer's management is...(only choose one)

...traditional or feudalistic, where guanxi & face are everything, enter 1.
...dishonest con artist who just wants to make money fast, enter 2.
...both traditional and con artist combined, enter 3.
...bureaucratic, where efficiency is lagging and standard operating procedures prevail over common sense, enter 4.
...all of the above enter 5.
...one that tries to be fair, but is incompetent or mildly incompetent, and/or lacks adequate resources due to shoe-string budget, enter 6.
...is fair and does very well in managing & accomodating foreign teachers, although there are still some constraints caused by the lack of resources, funding, and low budget, enter 7.
...is fully or nearly up to international management standards, or more accurately, the management standards of the developed countries, enter 8.

If you are working in...

...Beijing or Shanghai, enter BS.
...Pearl River Delta, enter PR.
...northeast China, enter NE.
...northern China except Beijing, enter NC.
...eastern coastal China except Shanghai, enter EC.
...southern China except Pear River Delta, enter SC.
...central China, enter CC.
...southwest China, enter SW.
...northwest China, enter NW.
...Tibet, enter XZ.
...Xinjiang, enter XJ.

Thanks a lot everyone.

Sounds like someone doing a graduate paper who wants some easy research info.
If it was up front about the reasons I might think about it.
