There was a post a couple of weeks ago but only one response and not very definitive. The medical form indicates tests for HIV, TB, etc but doesn't say anything about tests for marijuana. Do the Chinese test for marijuana during the health check for the Z visa?
Does anyone know the real story?

BTW, I don't take illegal drugs. I just ate a brownie at a going away party that was cooked with marijuana.

Thank you

Many countries consider that to be an illegal drug.

Well, I had one, at least I assume so, at my current school. Took a urine sample but didn't tell me what it was for, so I just assume it was a drug test.

Anyway, wouldn't it be out of your system by the time you got here? You didn't even state when you arrive...

to my knowledge, the tests they do are quite unreliable and yes they often just tick the box rather than check Wink

the last test they did on me was a joke. in a couple hours, based on their expertise they knew i had no hiv, hep etc..what they beeped was my actual blood type..has it really changed Confused yes, they've beeped that before in other clinics too Laughing

ohh, the last time, i was directed to put my urine sample on a tray full of urine samples and flies next to the toilet. do you think those flies are flyin'high now? Laughing Laughing Laughing

cheers and urine to the clinics that actually charge us such amounts of money for such poor services that are sooo unneccessary for the ones in the country Mad

How many countries even do drug testing outside of the USA anyways?

My doctor just ran a full blood panel and attached it to the form. Mind, I've yet to apply for the Z-visa yet so we'll see if it's accepted.

As I have zero risk factors for HIV she said it would be pointless to test for it. I agreed. Conversely liver function, cholesterol, Vit D levels, etc., were worthwhile.

Also, I'm told we need to re-do the medical test once in China anyway. So to a degree the whole thing seems pointless.

While yes, you'll likely have to do the test in China....that underlined bit confuses me more than a little.

If your Doc said she's not going to test you for ovarian cancer because you aren't a woman...I could understand. But to not test for HIV because she believes you don't have it....is frightening. Hard to believe that person is an actual doctor.

Hopefully you won't run into issues with that BB. I'm almost positive (heyo) that the health exam form asks about HIV specifically. If they already drew blood I don't see why they just wouldn't run the test, unless it was prohibitively expensive. You may be ok, who knows how closely they actually look at these forms beyond the stamps.

/edit: I have not had to do another exam but I've only been here a little over a week.

Right! In fact, there is something about the cooking process that really brings out the full strength and intensity of the THC, making the high almost psychedelic, which, by the way, pot is technically classified as. OP, are you trying to say you ate it not knowing it was a pot brownie?
