|
|
I just arrived in Turkey and bought a simple card at avea. They said it would work only 12 days unless I went to the tax office and registered it. I paid the 115 TL at the tax office and returned to avea. Now they are telling me there is a new law and they can't register any foreign phones. The same guy who told me to now return to the tax office and get my money back. He said it's impossible to use my phone in Turkey. Is this true? |

You must adapt to approaching your problems in the Turkish fashion. Simply ask another salesperson or go to another Avea provider to register it. After all you have 12 days so keep asking until you get the answer you want (and you will), and remember this approach in the future. |

I went to 4 different avea shops. The 4th told me that Ave acne longer registers them. I am now at Vodafone getting it done. |

Best advice ever. Try this with Turkish Airlines and, you will definitely get what you want. |

I went through an ordeal with this a couple years ago. I was a day late getting my phone registered and the guy at Turkcell wouldn't do it. I argued and he said they do everything straight in Turkey, I was like seriously? I know people who have had their birth certificates changed there. Eventually I got it registered but after a month or so it stopped working and I was told whoever registered it had made an error and that it would be incredibly complicated to fix so I just stopped using that phone. |

I got an sms from the guy at Vodafone saying there is a complication with registering it. So every Avea shop says it's impossible and the guy at Vodafone who seemed really confident says he can't do it. Does anyone know if it's possible at all anymore? |
