For what it's worth I was asked for UK - copies of degree and certs and references (who were contacted) in my last two positions here in China (Jiangsu and Zhejiang) and my husband was asked for the same here in Qingdao.

Perhaps this depends more on both the type of job and provider you are working for then a blanket rule for all?

Who did the asking? Was it for the school or for the visa/rp?

References were checked by the employers, never thought to ask who was checking the docs but they went towards applying for the initial Z visa.

Please don't think I'm attacking you or anything...but I am nitpicking since for this discussion it's a huge difference. Are you certain the transcripts were required by the PSB in order to process your Z visa? You mentioned your degree and certs but the question is more about transcripts.

You and I are both in Qingdao I think. I've not had anyone ask me for transcripts in almost 4 years here. If this is some kind of new secret requirement for a z/rp I guess I'll get mine ready.

@ Muffintop we're from the UK, transcripts were only brought in in the mid naughties in Blighty and we both graduated well before then. So we have never produced them for anyone!
