I knew finding work in Spain would not be easy. However, I believed that my CELTA plus prior experience would be enough for me to obtain a job during September.
I've had 3-4 interviews per week in Valencia since I got here the first week of September. I received two offers: one from a Callan school and another Inlingua Valencia. Each of those places seem to hire pretty much anybody as I got a job offer during the interview. Both pay well below the average and have poor reputations. I have two schools who I am very interested in and am currently waiting on while a different academy called last night (I was at dinner and missed the call).
I am frustrated because I took all of the advice of my colleagues and tutors. Heck, the CELTA program had a workshop on preparing for job interviews. Plus, I have all of the experience + certification that people want. I just don't know what to change to be more appealing. |

Right - I have read through your posting history and I take it you have your Irish passport by now. What about camping up in Madrid or somewhere where there are more jobs? |

EDIT #2: Got a job. Thread can die now.

EDIT: Going back to Barcelona. Perhaps a change in city can help.
Yes I have it.
I suppose I could head out some time early next week. I am still awaiting responses from two schools and have an interview with another one today.
I could always go back to Barcelona since that where I started out in Spain if I could get some accommodation. |

Try Zaragoza. It's a great city to find work. |

I nearly went to Valencia last year. But I ended up in another part of Spain. I had no idea the situation in Valencia was that bad. |
