I'm working for a university near Izmir at the moment and I've been told that I may not open a bank account in Turkey because my work permit isn't for six months yet. Is this true? I know that all I need is my tax number but I was also told that I will not receive this until January. I think that they are jerking me around. Can anyone weigh-in on this? |

Two years ago I only had to have a passport and a tax number to open a bank account. I don't think I needed anything else. You can go get a tax number yourself I think. This could have changed from when I did it though. |
