Yesterday my boss sent me to interview for a beginner and an intermediate corporate class. I got the job, but then they asked me which textbook I would use. I said I liked the American Streamline series, as I had used it in Korea.
I was thinking they'd send someone out to a bookstore to buy the copies they need, but no, they're too cheap for that. They want me to email them a pdf of the book so they can make photocopies of it.
I told them that I don't actually have the book, either in hard copy or pdf. They said no problem, just find a different book and send us a copy of that.
So, I've spend an hour and a half searching online for a decent textbook available by pdf. All I can find are ads through file sharing sites, which want me to download their client, and from my experience usually put viruses and adware on my computer, and then don't deliver the file they advertised.
I'm supposed to start teaching tonight, and they want me to email them the pdf this morning. Any ideas as to where I might find textbooks in pdf format? |

filecrop dot com usually has most of what you need. It seems to be the best one overall for your task, though maybe someone has a better site scoped out.
Yeah, I know what you mean on the little exe files they try to send you, I never download those, if they cannot send the pdf, I am scared and I back out of the deal. |

They're too cheap to buy one book to photocopy? Seems like they want you to do an awful lot of running around to save themselves $20. |

Well - indeed.
Had I any other options I would decline this kind of gig. It is a major red flag when they won't even buy/download a single copy of a book.
OP may well not have too many options and if it's only part of a larger deal then OK - maybe put up with it for now. |

Congratulations on getting the job. Can you explain why you have a boss sending you to job interviews? How does this work? I'm confused why you already have a boss, but you have to go to job interviews. If you have a boss then you have a job, don't you? |
