Hi all,
Just been offered a job at PNU. As I'm Canadian and it seems to take a while with document processing, the guy I interviewed with says they'll send me to Bahrain where I'll wait for a few days before getting my work visa and sending me to Saudi. Is this legit? |

Not sure about the PNU and Canadian citizen angles, but I have just processed an entry visa, on a UK passport, through English Gate Academy in only a few days in Bahrain, no problems whatsoever. The agent was Algosaibi who were very good, and I am now at work in KSA. I might add that I had to hand all the paper work I was required to provide and my Saudi employer was prompt with providing the paper work they had to submit on my behalf. The medical only took 3 hours. Hope this helps. |

Radiant one,
Where are EGA sending you? Also how long did it take for you to get your visa in Bahrain and were your hotel costs covered ? |

AJ88,
EGA have posted me to Saudi Arabia. Obtaining the visa in Bahrain took 4 days and the hotel was paid for. The medical, reimbursed, cost Dinar 60. |

That's not bad then. How are you finding working with EGA, there's been terrible reports over the past. Maybe you can update us. |

I have only been with them one week, but I find them very good to work with. They have been most efficient with getting me into the country, settled into good accommodation, and started at work. The country and center directors are decent fellows, and I like my workmates and students. Another friend of mine is working happily with EGA at another center, too. At this point, I have nothing but good to say about them. |

is the post from "radient one" a genuine post from someone who is actually teaching ? Or perhaps from someone in the HR Dept ?
If the visa was processed in Bahrain be sure that it is a business visa. |

Not necessarily. I've had contact with EGA and they require teachers to do a medical in Bahrain to get their visa. Apparently they have a special connection which means they can get employment visas easily in Bahrain. |

The wonders of "Wasta" ! But this is not a good time to be in KSA with the wrong visa. See other threads on this. |

Dear scot47,
Perhaps you should consider changing your user-name to Cassandra.
"The Cassandra metaphor (variously labelled the Cassandra 'syndrome', 'complex', 'phenomenon', 'predicament', 'dilemma', or 'curse') occurs when valid warnings or concerns are dismissed or disbelieved."
Regards,
John |

You go to clinic about 10 minutes away (the hotel have taxis at the door) and "do" blood sample/pressure, stool/urine sample, profile and then you go to an Xray clinic, a longish trip away, return with your Xrays on disc and the medical clinic complete your medical papers. Whole process took less than 3 hours. |
