| winter break usually is the chinese new year, in february. Its the whole month. ask your co workers or your students, they will know the school's schedule |

It is in January this year |

It is in January this year |
The Lunar New Year is on Friday, January 31st this year.
Here at my school in Sichuan things will be wrapping up by Friday, the 17th of January. The first days of classes will then be on Monday, February 24th.
Maybe this can be a very rough guide for others? But naturally, it's alway best to go to the horse's mouth and check and ask the powers that be, and then ask again, and then a third time just to make doubly sure.

There is a country-wide schedule but some schools implement it differently.
For example, at my school, we have a longer winter break and shorter summer break due to the cold weather in this area. So we finish January 1st and start again in late February, but our summer break is only like 5 weeks instead of 6-8 weeks like some other schools. |
