Hello
I would like to know what is needed to get a work visa in the UAE.
I had my BA English degree notarized by my lawyer and authenticated and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Canada. I also have a teaching qualification for Ontario and a TESOL.
Is this enough or do they require sealed documents like in Korea??
Just trying to get prepared ahead of time.
Thanks |

Your sponsor should be able to advise. Sometimes authentication and attestation of docs can be time sensitive, especially police clearances. |

I thought there was no police clearance for UAE?
That is incorrect? |

Some of the international schools may require them. |

Depends upon which country you are from but even at that as an American I had to provide a police clearance letter. Just needed a stamp on it, UAE is big on official stamps, and says you have an acceptable record. |

It depends on your passport. Most European Union members can get a stamp at the airport that will allow them to visit, not work for 90 days.
Recently I had to notarise, legalise and attest a Masters Diploma in order to obtain the security clearance for a residency in the Emirates. It has been a nightmare since I live in a country other than my own but I got it done.
It took me over 2.5 month and approximately 500 Euros from beginning to end, even though I did a lot of the leg work myself.
No police records were required but they've checked every single piece of information that I've provided (i.e. references, letters of experience, education, etc.). In addition, I lived in KSA for 4 years, so no need for police clearance |
