At this point the HCT is in a death spiral. The HCT has always had management issues, but never package/contract issues. Clever but cynical people did their jobs and lived their lives, which is why you never saw much on this forum apart from malcontents. However, new management has translated into serious problems. It's November and there is no info about new contracts or packages. Stay away until things are sorted. You've been warned. |

I've read some over dramatic stuff about HCT in my time, but that about takes the cake.
Truth is that HCT needs to address its historically generous package.
Hate to break it to you folks, but as far as the skill set needed in this country is concerned ... we're pretty much ten a penny right now.
Those who most pompously overvalue their own skills where I work over the last three years ... well ... they've been the people who have fallen the furthest.
Welcome to the new paradigm. |

Just curious.
For those who are currently working at HCT or have recently finished, how are salaries? I've heard salaries have gone down...
I'm in Oman where the salaries with the HCTs there are around 14,000, but you have to pay for your own housing and transportation out of that. |

No one has had their salary lowered at HCT. You would have to find new hires and compare to previous hires with similar CVs.
You do realize that there is absolutely no relationship or similarity whatsoever between the HCT in the UAE and HCT in Oman... other than the name.

Yes.
I just wanted to hear specific salaries in order to compare. I've been hearing salaries are going down in the UAE. Where one used to make a lot more working for colleges in the UAE than in Oman a few years back, now salaries have become almost the same. |

Oman salaries are about to go up (for some) due to the decree about standardising them across sectors... |

No.
Nowhere near, at least for the fully qualified and experienced. |
