What do you think of the 'new look' that has appeared and disappeared over the past few days?
I vote for #3. If there's a way to customize our own formats, so much the better!

Dear struelle,
I'd vote for No. 3, also. But you know - I suspect that Dave's may not be a democracy.
Regards,

Change is good, donkey.
Except when it's bad. Keep the old format |

I prefer the old style, which (hooray!) seems to have returned.

I didn't vote because I would pick options 1 and 2. I don't believe option 3 is actually possible. Save the old theme and create a new one giving users the option of either by going to their profile and changing it. I'm not sure which themes are available, but he has two or three to choose from right now.
Dave can set the default for whatever theme he prefers and users can change it according to their own preferences in their profiles. People new to the forum tend to get used to whatever the default is, but as he changes themes he can just add it to the list of options and switch the default around. It creates a minute of work for us but provides Dave all the creative freedom he needs when he gets a wild hair up his....beret. |

Can't one change the format in which one wishes to view the forum in the member profile? |

Each time I've been on here over the past 24 hours it changes format! It keeps alternating between the new and old aesthetic. |

Yes, you can change it by selecting a different theme in your profile. I'm not sure what the "old" theme looked like, I have always used subsilver and it didn't change. I looked the other day and I know there is a theme called esl cafe but I didn't look at it. You can only pick from the choices Dave provides so if he doesn't include the old theme and just makes changes to create a new one, you are sol. |
